Davidson small footed 'William and Mary' cake and sweets stand
Beautiful example of English pressed glass, this footed plate can be used for small cakes and sweets. Made by George Davidson & Co, England, circa early 1900's.
Details on this bowl include an six point flower shape pattern with intricate diamond pressed glass pattern in each 'petal'. With undulating edge and wave detail rim. Please check the measurements, it is a small cake stand in terms of the diameter of a cake (just under 8", would fit a standard 6" cake) or use for petit fours or other individual sweets.
This is registered pattern no. 413701 (marked to plate surface) and was registered on the 14th of July, 1903. There was a range of glassware items featuring this design. Also known as 'William and Mary'.
Wonderful style glass piece and highly collectible antique Davidson glass. In very good condition, evidence of use in small scratches/utensil marks on the top surface.
