Melba Ware Toby Character Jug 'Punch'

A collectible Melba Ware character jug 'Punch', made in England, c.1950s.

This jug was modelled on the character, 'Punch', from the Punch and Judy puppet shows. Despite their fictional nature, Punch and Judy have become English cultural icons with a history spanning over 350 years. 

Produced by H. Wain & Sons under their Melba Ware label. A pleasing example for collectors of character jugs, and a nostalgic addition to a shelf, sideboard or breakfast table.

In very good vintage condition with one chip to the foot (pictured).
