A collectible Royal Doulton Character Jug 'Paddy', made in England, c.1940's.
This character was modelled on the fictional figure, 'Paddy', a colloquial reference to an Irishman at that time. Designed by Harry Fenton, this jug was first introduced in 1937 and both sizes have the 'A' mark to the base, indicating early production.
Royal Doulton produced character jugs for more than six decades, and early examples such as these remain highly regarded by collectors.
Well suited to decorative display, or to be enjoyed as part of a vintage table or entertaining setting.
Both pieces are in excellent vintage condition, sold separately.
