Handmade Kenya Kamba stool with intricate beaded inlay art

An authentic handmade Kamba stool featuring intricate beaded inlay work set in to the hand carved timber top.
Crafted by the Kamba people of Kenya, this stool reflects generations of traditional craftsmanship and artistry.

These simple four legged stools are hand-carved from a single piece of hardwood and each is unique in their shape and form. This stool has a deeply rustic presence with visible signs of age and wear, adding to its authenticity and timeworn charm (from around the mid 20th century). 
The hand beading is detailed and expressive, showcasing animal life, geometric patterns and earthy colours typical of tribal African design. It has an unfinished raw timber edge to the stool top (pictured).

In overall good vintage condition, it will bring global character to any space as a decorative accent. 
Note: The stool top does have a previous split repair. This can be seen best in the last photo where it has been repaired from almost the centre, through the lizard, to the edge. Due to this repair (although still solid and stable) I would suggest this piece is best suited to decorative use and gentle handling. It could also be lacquered and further restored for longevity if desired.
