Rare 1950's 'Stardust' double compartment lucite handbag by Wilardy, New York

Collectible and stunning mid century 1950's lucite handbag by Wilardy, New York.

This is the Stardust design which is gold glittery tulle encased in the lucite manufacturing process. A true statement piece and very rare design, model 1275. This features 2 compartments, one small at the top with lucite curved catch opening and one larger bottom compartment with push latch opening.

In fabulous condition with Wilardy imprinted on the hinge. The only small flaw is that the top hinge has moved slightly from age. Should be able to fix if desired, but it is not necessary as it does not affect appearance or use.

These bags were very popular in the 50's and 60's and this handbag will create a unique addition to any outfit. Lucite bags  are highly collectible and make a true vintage statement and this piece is an exceptional and hard to find example. The last photo shows Jane Wyman with a Stardust bag from 1953.
