Rare hand painted doyley box by Jean King Novelties

Hand painted decorative box by Jean King Novelties, Melbourne, Australia. This box is most likely from around 1920's - 1940's.

This box was made to store doyleys, beautifully painted with a Victorian lady gathering flowers in a sky blue dress. A lovely piece of history, there is a Jean King painted box within the Powerhouse Collection (an Australian museum group).

Measures approx. 300mm x 245mm x 50mm (H)
In excellent condition.

Jean King produced hand painted wooden household items in the early part of the century until resigning from her partnership in 1947.
